Giorgio Armani Oscar Event

Beverly Hills, February 27th, 2016 – A private cocktail party was held Saturday hosted by Roberta Armani honoring the movie “The Revenant” and celebrating its 87th annual Academy Award® nominations. The cast of the movie, led by six-time Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio, was joined at the Giorgio Armani boutique on Rodeo Drive by guests from the entertainment, fashion, society, arts and business worlds  for the exclusive Oscar weekend celebration.

L’appuntamento al cinema di questa settimana è con Joy.

Joy è un film del  scritto e diretto da David O. Russell, con protagonisti Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro e Bradley Cooper; i quattro, regista e attori, sono alla loro terza collaborazione, dopo aver già lavorato insieme nei film Il lato positivo - Silver Linings Playbook e American Hustle - L'apparenza inganna.

La pellicola è ispirata alla vita di Joy Mangano, inventrice del Miracle Mop, la magica scopa per pulire i pavimenti. 

Abbastanza curioso di andarlo a vedere. Leggendo la trama, la storia di Joy sembra quella di una Cenerentola sfigata dei nostri tempi. Sfigata sì, ma pur sempre con il visino da Oscar di Jennifer Lawrence che comunque aiuta. Inutile negarlo.

Joy, ragazza modello che deve rinunciare all’Università quando i genitori si separano che si ritrova con un ex marito e tre figli (le sfighe non vengono mai da sole), troverà poi il riscatto sociale aguzzando l’ingegno e scoprendo una rivoluzione per tutte le casalinghe! Brava  10+!

Eddie Redmayne alla première di The Danish Girl

In attesa della canditatura per il suo secondo Oscar come miglior attore, Eddie Redmayne si è presentato sul red carpet della première a Londra del suo ultimo film The Danish Girl (in uscita in Italia il 4 Febbraio) in un completo Valentino. Il risultato finale è perfetto.

Beverly Hills, February 21^th, 2015 – Roberta Armani joined forces tonight with long-time friend and Academy Award© winning actress Cate Blanchett to host an intimate celebration on the occasion of the 87^th Annual Academy Awards©. The event took place on the private terrace overlooking the city, at the Giorgio Armani boutique in Beverly Hills. Blanchett is currently the face of ‘Si’, one of Giorgio Armani’s signature fragrances.

GIORGIO ARMANI HONORS MARTIN SCORSESE & PAOLO SORRENTINO WITH SPECIAL OSCAR WEEKEND CELEBRATION

Giorgio Armani celebrated acclaimed directors Martin Scorsese and Paolo Sorrentino, in honor of their 86^thAnnual Academy Award® nominations, at a special private cocktail party hosted by Roberta Armani at the Giorgio Armani flagship boutique in Beverly Hills. The event also paid homage to Italian heritage in Hollywood.

Scorsese, who previously won an Academy Award® for “Best Director” for “The Departed,” is currently nominated for “Best Director” and “Best Picture” for “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

Giorgio Armani’s friendship with Martin Scorsese developed in the late 1980s, with their first collaboration coming in 1990 when Scorsese directed the documentary “Made in Milan.” In their latest partnership, Giorgio Armani’s signature style is featured in Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street.” The period suiting silhouettes were featured on the character played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Sorrentino, acclaimed director for such renowned films as “Il Divo,” is nominated for an Oscar® for “Best Foreign Language Film” for his movie, “La Grande Bellezza” (“The Great Beauty”). A long time supporter and friend of Sorrentino’s, Giorgio Armani has always admired his great talent and contribution to Italian cinema.
