GIORGIO ARMANI HONORS MARTIN SCORSESE & PAOLO SORRENTINO WITH SPECIAL OSCAR WEEKEND CELEBRATION


Giorgio Armani celebrated acclaimed directors Martin Scorsese and Paolo Sorrentino, in honor of their 86thAnnual Academy Award® nominations, at a special private cocktail party hosted by Roberta Armani at the Giorgio Armani flagship boutique in Beverly Hills. The event also paid homage to Italian heritage in Hollywood.
Scorsese, who previously won an Academy Award® for “Best Director” for “The Departed,” is currently nominated for “Best Director” and “Best Picture” for “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
Giorgio Armani’s friendship with Martin Scorsese developed in the late 1980s, with their first collaboration coming in 1990 when Scorsese directed the documentary “Made in Milan.” In their latest partnership, Giorgio Armani’s signature style is featured in Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street.” The period suiting silhouettes were featured on the character played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Sorrentino, acclaimed director for such renowned films as “Il Divo,” is nominated for an Oscar® for “Best Foreign Language Film” for his movie, “La Grande Bellezza” (“The Great Beauty”). A long time supporter and friend of Sorrentino’s, Giorgio Armani has always admired his great talent and contribution to Italian cinema.
