The
Armani Group is pleased to announce that an event to celebrate the fifth
anniversary of the opening of Armani/Ginza Tower was held today in Tokyo.
On this
occasion, the Eccentrico exhibition launched in Milan
in September during women’s fashion week was brought to Japan. It will be open to the
public from November 30th to December 13th and will be held on the ninth floor
of the building.
The Eccentrico exhibition showcases 51
dresses from the Giorgio Armani and Giorgio Armani Privé collections – 51
refined creations, dating from 1985 to the present, that with their evocative
beauty conjure up a vision of exquisite elegance, and feature fantastic,
imaginative ideas that appear to transform the very essence of things. In
addition to these, there are over 200 accessories on show including jewellery,
shoes, bags and hats.
Giorgio
Armani says, “After Milan, I wanted to bring Eccentrico to Tokyo to celebrate five years of Armani/Ginza
Tower, to pay tribute to my love of Japanese culture and aesthetics, which have
often inspired me in my work.”
A bamboo
motif distinguishes the tower and is used across the façades, and is extended
through the use of LED backlighting, accentuating the stylized line of the
building’s gilt metal frame. Bamboo “leaves” are covered with a film of
milky-white frosted plexiglas, draping the façade in a brilliant mantle of
light
